Temperature is crucial for starch gelatinization and puffing, and needs to be adjusted according to feed characteristics: When producing floating aquatic feed, the temperature should be controlled at 130-160℃ to ensure full starch gelatinization, forming a stable porous structure with a buoyancy rate of over 95%; when producing sinking feed, the temperature should be lowered to 120-140℃ to reduce puffing and control the particle density at 1.1-1.3 g/cm³, suitable for bottom-dwelling fish; if producing functional feed containing probiotics and vitamins, a small fish food pellet making machine should be used, with the temperature controlled at 80-100℃ to maximize the retention of heat-sensitive nutrients and prevent loss due to high temperatures.

Coordinated control of pressure and rotation speed. Pressure needs to be matched with temperature, typically maintained at 3-6 MPa. When producing floating feed, the pressure is increased to 4-6 MPa to ensure sufficient water vapor expansion and uniform particle porosity; when producing sinking feed, the pressure is reduced to 3-4 MPa to reduce pore formation. The screw speed directly affects the residence time of the raw material in the extrusion chamber. For fish food production machines, the speed should be controlled between 250-400 rpm. Higher speeds result in shorter residence times, lower puffing, and higher pellet hardness; conversely, slower speeds result in longer residence times, higher puffing, and looser pellets. For juvenile fish feed, the speed should be reduced (250-300 rpm) to make the pellets easier to chew; for adult fish feed, the speed can be increased (350-400 rpm) to enhance the pellets' water resistance.

Troubleshooting abnormal parameters in small floating fish feed pellet extruder machines: If some pellets have poor buoyancy and sink quickly, it's often due to insufficient temperature or low pressure. Increase the temperature by 5-10°C and adjust the screw speed to increase pressure. If the pellets are burnt and have poor palatability, the temperature is too high or the residence time is too long. Reduce the temperature and increase the speed. If the pellets easily break apart and have poor water resistance, reduce the puffing and fine-tune the pressure and temperature to a balanced state. During the production process, parameters need to be monitored in real time, and particle quality needs to be sampled and tested every 30 minutes. Timely fine-tuning is required to ensure stability.
